My home was completed i November 1998. The building supplies were delivered in June 1998. They sat there in the scorching Texas heat and rain until August when the building supervisor finally found a contractor to start construction. They could not find anyone who would come dig the trench for the foundation because the last backhoe operator they used in this area was not paid. I went through 3 contractors, 3 building supervisors. They could not find anyone to install my cabinets so they got the plumber to complete the installation. The cabinetry for my kitchen and mastered bathroom were broken on the bottom.... they installed it anyway... I had to call the supervisor and have it removed. The door facings and seals were so poorly constructed after 6 months they rotted and a hole appeared in the sub-flooring. The kitchen cabinets, the plumber installed, had a 1/4" - 1/2" gap in the seam from the front where the 2 cabinets joined to the back near the wall. I told the building supervisor I did not want the upstairs loft textured. He forgot to tell the drywall guy. So.... after my home is completed they drywall guy files a mechanics lien against my home. I wrote letters for several years in attempts to get this removed. Finally some guy shows up on my door step and says he is here because I have a complaint. He says he will go to the court house and research the lien. He tells me I have nothing to worry about unless I try to sell my home. He never offers any other resolution. This last fall I was in the court house getting some related paperwork on my home. I asked them to look into the lien. They researched every piece of paper filed related to my home and never found a lien. The man lied. He never went to the court house to research the lien or he would have told me one was never filed. I had only received a copy from the attorney but the drywall guy never filed the lien. The windows in my home are crooked. You can stand across the room and look at them and can see with your naked eye how out of square they are.

Tonight I was doing some research and found information on Jim Walter's website that states they are no longer building homes". The reasons stated were due to the poor housing market and economic downturn/. THE REAL reason is, and anyone with a Jim Walter's home knows this, is the shoddy workmanship, extremely poor customer service, and the *** over mentality of this company!. They according to a link I found the company filed bankruptcy!. Well, for all of us that were screwed by them it couldn't happen to a better company:. Never again will they be able to take someone's dreams and turn them into a literal hellish nightmare|.

They are now Walter's Energy". So, for anyone out there dealing with this new company, beware!. They may have changed their name and changed what snake oil they are selling.... but I am certain they are the same old charletans wrapped in a new package. 12a69cf
